The blue room

Serenity Nursery Home and Garden wares

Serenity Nursery gorgeous patio settings

Serenity Nursery new "blue room"- No more red walls!!!

One thing we try to always do is surprise and delight our customers. We had a purple and grey painted room which was painted red about three years ago. Everyone loved "the red room" and we mostly decorated it with Asian style pieces. Well this week we thought out with the old and in with the new. We pained the walls of the red room a pretty pale blue and we love it. It's fresh, summery and bright. Pop in and have a look how we decorated it...our theme was "no theme" and we have mixed french style chairs with modern metal home wares and our very popular multicoloured side board tables.
Enjoy.

Perfect Pieces

Acid brights are still a main theme in our little stone wagon shed gift shop ( pictured above left). We have gift and home wares rolling in from Melbourne leading up to Christmas so now is the time to get the best pick. We have scarves in all the colours of the rainbow and
oil cloth handbags in spots and florals.

Pretty pastels are another theme we have chosen and our powder pink, blue and white hanging hearts and garlands are a gorgeous decorative touch for the home...Mum found them on an overseas buying trip so they are truly unique to us...Enjoy.

PS. Love lavenders? pop in now for a huge offering, including the one pictured here!

Industrial/ Country

Industrial/ Country display at Serenity Nursery

Another display I wish I could say that I whipped together, but being 6 months pregnant the merchandising process was a little slower than usual. I made use of the old wagon shed stone walls as an earthy back drop to our new home wares. Cream industrial stools, FOB Clock and lots of inspirational and quirky signs to make you laugh.

Gummies Sliders available now at Serenity Nursery.

We are loving the new range of Gummies sliders in red/ white polka dot.
Perfect yard or gardening shoe. Pop into see our new range of leather gardening gloves in new new seasons colours.

Blue, green and all colours inbetween..

So a little trip away to Sydney has inspired me to revamp the gift shop. It's all about colour in your home and blue and green is one of my favourite combinations.
What things do I love in this shot: The shell inlaid timber stools, the shabby chic hanging pendents, the fluro green and electric blue scarf and the mother in laws tongue plant. Indoor plants are big this season...stay tuned.

Pop in to our shop and you won't miss the brightly coloured owls. Owl cushions, doorstops and plush toys add a whimsical decorative touch to your home.

Garden Sculpture Balls...

Have you seen our garden sculpture balls made from teak wood chips?

Teak is a marvelous hardwood suitable for outdoors. If left untreated teak can take on a silver grey appearance and look great in any environment. I love them as a cluster of three but they can look equally as good scattered throughout a garden. Native grasses such as lomandras and dianellas can look great casually planted around them. Mimic the shape with your plantings, try  native rosemary clipped into low balls for a designer look.

Lights...Camera...ACTION..

Micheal Keelan and Mum in the pavillion.

Me with the camera man doing my little segment.

We are excited and humbled to have had a visit from Chanel 7 television crew this month.
South Australian gardening guru Micheal Keelan and the team from televising series SA Life spent a half a day interviewing us and filming all of our unique garden wares.

We were overwhelmed with happiness when we received a call from Micheal on the Friday and they were here filming the following Tuesday. It was a fun experience for our staff and family who each took a turn talking about the garden centre.

I will let you know when it's going to air.

Our little feed shed.

One of the things that makes are garden centre unique is our old stone feed shed.
It was built in the early 1900's and once
housed the grains and hay for the horses and pigs
that once live on the property.
Today we use the feed shed to display our garden gifts and plants.
Top: our Courtney's Tub is planted with an ivy hoop and trailing geraniums.
A second hand chair that we have planted with succulents sits by the doorway.
Middle: French style cushions and wall art adorn our little feed shed.
Bottom: It's a great time to plant lavender.
There are lots of autumn/ winter  flowering varieties in store now.

Zen Zone V's kitsch

Have you seen our GIANT water lettuce?
They are AMAZING.
They look great floating in earthy
 or glazed water bowls.
It's so easy to grow them just drop them in the water
 and they will multiply
by growing little pups on the side.
( our zenned out Buddha's are cool too)

Have fun
 in your garden
with our kitsch pink flamingos
 and giant flower wall hangings.
