The blue room

Serenity Nursery Home and Garden wares

Serenity Nursery gorgeous patio settings

Serenity Nursery new "blue room"- No more red walls!!!

One thing we try to always do is surprise and delight our customers. We had a purple and grey painted room which was painted red about three years ago. Everyone loved "the red room" and we mostly decorated it with Asian style pieces. Well this week we thought out with the old and in with the new. We pained the walls of the red room a pretty pale blue and we love it. It's fresh, summery and bright. Pop in and have a look how we decorated it...our theme was "no theme" and we have mixed french style chairs with modern metal home wares and our very popular multicoloured side board tables.
Enjoy.

Freshly Picked:

Autumn is the perfect time to plant lemon trees or any citrus for that matter.
Grow cumquat's in pots for a Mediterranean feel or a lime tree along a fence for an edible screen.

It's no secret that I love dogs and while hunting the web I was delighted to stumble
 across these words of advise.

Yellow roses, sunflowers and a lemon as a place card makes a pretty table setting. Use any type of fruit that is in season, your guest can take it home as a healthy snack!

A yellow feature wall is a dramatic backdrop to this climbing wisteria plant. Use paint in the garden to quickly and cheaply transform a space. Paint the side of an old shed, a fence or an old chair to introduce a new colour to a dull spot.

Plant tulips now and all Spring flowering bulbs. Love the yellow industrial stools? We have them in baby blue and cream @ Serenity Nursery now.

Hello Yellow!

So we have been on trend watch this week with a trip interstate and we have discovered
 a whole lot of colour.
There is no right or wrong colour combo. Be brave and mix things up.
...Pink teamed with yellow
Fluros with naturals...

We found yellow was a standout colour as was emerald green.
Stay tuned to our new shop displays for a brightly coloured surprise.

Not so mellow yellow...

Need to cover an area in the garden fast? Grow one of these! It's an osteospermum called "Voltage".
It features large daisy-like flowers in vivid yellow. "Voltage" has a spreading/ mounding habit so it can act like a ground cover in your garden. Check them out available in "Copper Apricot" and purple.

Marian's Marvel

Marian ( Mum) sits along side the beautiful blue and cream house admirering the creek and garden views.

Try Growing: Dahlias, Agapanthus, Guara, Zantedeschia and acanthus mollis which line the creek bed of this New Zealand garden. These varieties will grow in most Australian areas too.

How would you like snow top mountains in your back yard?

The gardens of New Zealand continue to amaze. This one was designed by a French couple who moved to New Zealand and fell in love with a vacant block with a creek running through it. They planted a vineyard and adorned the creek side with the most beautiful lush plants. Marian and Rod said it looked so effortlessly elegant and the bridge over the creek looked like Monet's Garden.

lanterns and birdcages in cool aqua for outside on in.

Throughout or recent trips to China and Sydney whilst looking  for new home and garden ware we couldn't help but notice a vibrant trend of bright hues such as aqua, orange, pink and yellow.
Our favourite colour combo is Turquoise and Tangerine. This colour combo will add zing to any natural space.

Modern Ethnic-Shop Display Today

I was in my element setting up this display for our advertising campaign for Adelaide Hills Magazine- Spring Addition. Colour is making a come back.

A mix of rustic handmade urns that we have imported sit well against our charcoal wall. Over-sized bird cages, metal peacocks, mirrors and wall art add to the maximalism effect that we are know for.
