The height of Blue and White

A snippet of blue and white lace cap hydrangeas, a dreamy blue gate way and blue gorgeous house that Marian and Rod visited this week.

The blue milk can, cane chairs and bird cages were nostalgic elements found around the house and garden.

Marian Loved the use of this blue glazed pot and said the hydrangeas and fuchsias were stunning.
 Love this look.

People from all over came to visit this pretty place.
Mum and Dads New Zealand adventures continued as they explored another beautiful house and garden. Laden with pretty cottage plants and magnificent established trees this place put a twinge in their heart.

All About Pots.

Garden club members discover the ins and outs about our pots.

This week we were visited by the Murray Bridge Garden Club. Our team talked to them about pots for gardens and Patios. Our presentation included what pots are made from, water wise pots, plants for pots and how to create beautiful pot displays.
I spoke about "Pots to beautify your garden" and I was asked by some garden club members to post some of the images from my presentation on this blog...so here they are...

These graceful armeria team perfectly with the purple pot.

Stark white flowers look great in vivid glazed pots. Try white pansies or lobelia.

A red pot was chosen to highlight the red new growth of this abelia .

The orange flowers vibrate against this blue pot. Under planting creates a dramatic effect.

Form over flower. Choose non-flowering plants for striking foliage, texture and shape.

Place your potted plants on a pedistal to add height and highlight floral displays

It's all about Teak at serenity Nursery

A new shipment of unique garden art has arrived into the nursery. I adore these over sized teak ball sculptures- They remind me of something Brendon Moore would put in his garden designs.

Our teak comes from a sustainable source and is ideal for outdoor use. The dove cotes are available in white too.

As you drive in to the garden centre you will be greeted by Life-size horses made from teak wood chips.

Classy planter boxes. Ideal for a front entrance.

Quirky mushroom sculptures to add a touch of fantasy to your garden.

Waste Not Want Not- Natural ways to garden.

1. Pencil Pines in a row or up a driveway can look impressive and are extremely water wise.
2. Lavender and salvias will grow well in an old bath tub.
3. Seedlings are available in biodegradable pots and can be planted straight into the ground.
4. Do you have a large glass jar or old fish bowl laying around? Plant in it and keep it indoors.
5. Gorgeous berry pie...from home grown berries we hope!
6. Succulents can look fab planted in an urn and are easily propagated from cuttings.

Italian Garden Inspiration

The ivy planted in the Italian planter is a simple idea that looks great.

Little weathered pots in a row make an interesting display.

I love the way they have wrapped the topiary pots in hessian, it compliments the timber door.

I found these aged half wine barrels painted white at an antique fair. I loved them but they wouldn't fit in my suitcase. I will have to paint my own barrels white for my own garden one day and plant some conifer topiaries in them.

Gorgeous garden settings

Create a gorgeous garden setting outdoors with pretty things sourced from around your home. Playing cards, cutlery and teacups strung up in a tree create a pretty mobile. A bright pink tulle bow make a lovely chair tie back and add a hit of colour against the stark white setting.

Flowering annuals cascade from the draws of this pastle painted cupboard. Set amongst the rambling garden is a scence of irony.

A cluster of vintage plates on an outdoor wall creates homelyness to an exterior.

Incredible Edibles

It's time to plant your winter vegetables. Growing tasty home grown veg tables is easy. Choose a sunny position in your garden. Prepare a patch with lots of organic matter such as cow manure or Plants Plus Groganic. If you don't have space for a vegie patch grow your vegetables in a container. Think outside the square plant in an old wash tub, a recycled foam box or wooden box. Water your seedlings in with a seaweed solution such as Liquid Gold Kelp this will help the plant settle and take root.

What do I plant in winter? Carrots, cabbages, beetroot, cauliflower, broccoli, rhubarb, asparagus, spinach, garlic, potatoes & Tuscan Kale.

Come in and see our exciting range of incredible edibles!!

Lush Living

Make an elegant statement in your garden with over sized urns. Create drama by placing large urns in small spaces or place a pair either side of an entrance way. Have fun filling them with your favourite annuals or a cascading plant like pictured here.
Check out our similar urns manufactured by Serenity Nursery.
