A visit to Mum and Dad's garden...

Have a look at Mum and Dad's garden (Above). Well this is just one section of the garden that they have worked on over the last couple of years. I really like what they have done with a simple metal arbour from our garden centre. They painted the arbour black along with this solid wrought iron urn. Mum and Dad chose a wisteria to cover the arbour. The purple and black is an unexpected combination and actually looks quite striking. The vigorous wisteria climber flowers during the warmer months and in winter sheds it's leave to reveal a woven bare vine.

A variety of deciduous trees surround the arbour and a large lawn area. What an excellent spot for a private get together.

Wisteria Amethyst Falls

What's this? Wisteria Amethyst Falls. It is an American variety of wisteria that is a well behaved variety, not as invasive and more compact then the Asian varieties more commonly grown.
Masses of deep lilac coloured flowers are produced on shorter than usual racemes giving a fuller effect. Flowering begins in spring with repeat flushes throughout summer. Can be trained to climb posts or trellis or in the garden bed can be left to trail over retaining walls, rockeries or embankments.
Available now.

Eclectic Style with my fave finds.

An eclectic Visual merchandising display with new home ware finds.

Two of my favourite finds on our buying trip were the teak timber deer wall hangings and cow hide stools. I had purchased them for my own home, but I was so excited to show them off I displayed them in our lifestyle pavilion today. The teak carved bench was also an overseas find.

Marian's Marvel

Marian ( Mum) sits along side the beautiful blue and cream house admirering the creek and garden views.

Try Growing: Dahlias, Agapanthus, Guara, Zantedeschia and acanthus mollis which line the creek bed of this New Zealand garden. These varieties will grow in most Australian areas too.

How would you like snow top mountains in your back yard?

The gardens of New Zealand continue to amaze. This one was designed by a French couple who moved to New Zealand and fell in love with a vacant block with a creek running through it. They planted a vineyard and adorned the creek side with the most beautiful lush plants. Marian and Rod said it looked so effortlessly elegant and the bridge over the creek looked like Monet's Garden.

Love Love Love our floral stone pots and heart hangers (over mirror)

I love to see our customers peep inside our little stone feed shed.

I wander what the next themed display will be?

Yucca Flowers & Gargoyles

I am in awe
 of the wonderful yucca flowers
that I have seen popping up
 all over town this Autumn.
I discovered these ones today while wandering
 around the garden centre.
 Our hand-made
 lantern is spot on
 next to the
 giant
 architectural
yucca
 plant.

I pieced together this little display
 for the garden centre today.
I've used Dad's hand-made
 old finish gargoyles.
A suar stool made from teak,
 stone steppers
 &
striking canna plants for a rustic/gothic look.

Indoors or Out

Our new shipment included this lovely teak garden bench. Teak is a wonderful timber that can be left outdoors to weather if you choose. If untreated it will weather to a silvery grey which takes on a french country look. Alternatively the timber can be oiled to retain the golden colour.Pictured alongside is our teak Suar Stool-oh so comfy spot to rest in the garden.

I found this image at Bright Bizarre. I would love any of these items in my house. Hey!..that's the red clock that we currently have in store.

This is an amazing sculpture hand carved from teak. We have three in store and they would look fabulous indoors or out. Each leaf is unique.

Modern Ethnic-Shop Display Today

I was in my element setting up this display for our advertising campaign for Adelaide Hills Magazine- Spring Addition. Colour is making a come back.

A mix of rustic handmade urns that we have imported sit well against our charcoal wall. Over-sized bird cages, metal peacocks, mirrors and wall art add to the maximalism effect that we are know for.

Serenity Style

My dad and brother started making cement statues, urns and garden wares in the late 90's for their business Serenity Garden Stone. Today the range has expanded to pavers and landscaping. There are so many classic pieces that still exist, which I love, like the rust wall plaque. Dad painted this old bathtub and his hand made cherubs with Porters rust paint. He has a knack of putting displays like this together really quickly and they look great.
Picture Above is of our showroom display with an interesting mix of wall art and home furnishings.
